WCMHA Announcement

The WCMHA Executive has been closely monitoring the latest developments of the COVID-19 Pandemic

and the Omicron variant. We have consulted with our two leagues: OBMHL & LCMHL to see the

direction they are headed. They both have worked in conjunction with Hockey Eastern Ontario, their

member associations, and watched and read the advice from public health authorities locally,

provincially, and federally.

With all of that in mind, the WCMHA Executive has decided that it is best to head into our Christmas

break early in order to help curb the spread, and to protect our players, coaches, staff and families.

With that in mind, the WCMHA will suspend all sanctioned hockey events (practices, games,

tournaments, and team functions) as of 11:59 pm, Friday, December 17th, 2021.

Our hope is that we will be able to return in early 2022, however we will continue to monitor the

situation over the next two weeks and beyond, and if the situation calls for a longer break then we will

adhere to that. As we are under the auspices of HEO, we will continue to monitor direction over the

break and work towards a safe return to hockey.

Yours in hockey,

WCMHA Executive Team
